Where do you put a 400,000 barrel-per-day gorilla?

Elk Point, South Dakota sounds like the middle of nowhere to me, but it is soon to be the site of this gigantic "green energy" project. The "gorilla" project being built in Elk Point by Hyperion Energy, L.L.C. could be the first oil refinery to be constructed in the United States in more than 30 years. There is not enough information on the internet yet to judge either the economic viability or the environmental impacts. There already is some local opposition to this gorilla, however, from Kim Quam at Elk Point Gorilla.
