AJC endorses Obama

Barack Obama's campaign for the presidential nomination of the Democratic Party was endorsed today by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The endorsement comes on the eve of Martin Luther King Day, a day when Senator Obama spoke to a standing room only crowd downtown at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in the pulpit formerly occupied by Reverend King. We may be a "red state," but it is nice to know that at least one Democratic presidential candidate recognizes the symbolic importance and unique policy concerns here in Georgia and the other southeastern United States.
